## What it is

A free, open source library that replaces native scrolling with smooth, controllable scrolling.

## What it’s for

Use it on scroll-animation sites, especially when WebGL and the DOM need to stay in sync with scrolling.

## Benefits

- Starts with a single new Lenis() call
- Keeps a consistent feel across mouse, trackpad and touch, with adjustable weight and speed
- Supports horizontal, infinite and snap scrolling and attaching to any element; under 5 kB

## Caveats

- Free and open source; the page doesn't name the license
- According to the maker, it avoids CSS transforms, hijacked scrollbars and accessibility losses
- There is a Framer plugin for people who don't code
