## What it is

A gist attributed to Andrej Karpathy that proposes an LLM maintaining an interlinked Markdown wiki in three layers: immutable raw sources, pages compiled by the agent, and a schema (like CLAUDE.md).

## What it’s for

For building a personal knowledge base, in Obsidian for example, where the agent ingests sources, answers queries and reviews the base.

## Benefits

- Three operations: ingest, query and lint
- index.md and log.md files for navigation and history
- Starts simple, with no vector search, and grows with scale

## Caveats

- Open questions, such as drift or wiki pollution, are not addressed in the gist.
- The gist's comments carry a lot of third-party promotion.
- Cost estimates and promises of perfect retrieval in the videos were not verified.
