## What it is

Obsidian is a notes app that stores everything as Markdown files on your computer, with links between notes and a graph view. The Web Clipper saves web articles as notes.

## What it’s for

To build a personal knowledge base that an AI agent can read and write, such as a compiled wiki or a vault with an index and a skills catalog.

## Benefits

- Local notes in an open format that work offline
- Links between notes and graph view
- Thousands of community plugins and themes
- Web Clipper to ingest articles

## Caveats

- The page describes the app as free; Sync and Publish are separate services, with no prices listed on the page
